Thursday 4 July
Alarm set and got to airport to pick up my favourite sister Tania at 2.00am. Home for a brief cuppa before getting some zzzzzzzs. Off to Kings birthday parade of floats and marching bands… Great stuff.
Looksee around west coast where Tania and I even manage a swimette. Water was divine and sun was shining. Off to see Miss Heilala island creation fashion show. Wonderful ball gowns that reflected Tonga using local materials or icons.
Friday 5 July
With Tania exploring town and dinner at our favourite garden Pizza joint run by Marco the Escaped Italian. Dined with neighbour Sally and her Wollongong visitors Trish, Steve and Hugh enjoying yummy food over great conversation buoyed by a wee drop of red. This was after Steve and Hugh entertained us with an impromptu guitar and fiddle concert in our backyard. All seems so surreal having Tania here.
Saturday 6 July
Off to Fafa with Tania. Did the obligatory snorkel… And despite a breezy day both Tania and Gord were fine on the crossing.
